First, I will give a suggested descendance listing. I have gathered the information from so many sources, it is difficult for me to readily pin point just where some originate from. Therefore I am presenting them here for informational purposes only in hopes of verifying whether they are correct or not.
A SUGGESTED THEOPHILUS MOON PEDIGREE I. _____________ MOON and Ann __________ (from somewhere I come up with Ann?) (While I have no name for this parent, the sons are stated in the will of Theophilus Moon below and we can assume parents where brothers are concerned, can we not?) A) Theophilus Moon - buried 22 September 1720 (Will dated the same year) = Dorothy ____________ - buried 26 April 1733? (His will, though partly not readable, gives many of the connections presented here.) 1) Theophilus Moon - died/buried/will 12 January 1748 (Will date - 1747) (He died with no children as his will gives all his property to his relatives and is the basis for much of these proposed connections.) 2) Charles Moon and -unknown- (I don't think this is Agnes Keast, see below) a) Theophilus Moon (Was to receive One hundred and Ten Pounds at age of Twenty Two years.) b) Henry Moon c) Mary Moon 3) Robert Moon c. 30 December 1692 = Jane Reede m. 20 May 1726 at Liskeard a) Theophilus Moon c. 12 April 1727 = Honour/Honor HAWKEY m. 1754? 2. The will of Theophilus Moon buried 1748 gives the names of his then living relatives and some of their family members. His brother's children are designated in his will as cousins rather than by the more correct term nephews. And his apparent 2nd 'cousins' Anthony Moon and John Moon a Shoemaker (the likely children of his cousin Charles Moon, the son of his uncle John Moon) have no stated relationship just inheritances as the term cousin is already used in the will to stipulate the relationship of nephews. This supports the idea that Anthony and John Moon are children of his cousin Charles Moon (the son of his Uncle John Moon), rather than children of his brother Charles Moon where they would have been refered to by cousins according to the estabished pattern of the will's phrase-olgy of calling nephews cousins. There is no relation given for Mary Oliver, who may be Anthony and John's married sister?
3. Cornelius Moon, a yarn jober, may or may not be my ancestor. He is mentioned in both wills but no relationship is given. In the will of 1747, my Cornelius is one of the Executors along with Theophilus' brother Robert Moon. In that will the properties of Penquite and Trewidland are mentioned for the use and benefit of Robert's son Theophilus Moon the name sake of his willing uncle.
b. Now therefore, I no longer make Theophilus Moon, the son of Charles Moon (also a brother of Theophilus), the surviving Theophilus Moon who marries Honour/Honor Hawkey(Hawkes) but some other Theophilus Moon as presented in the pedigree of Frank Mcquire.
5. I do include in the family of Theophilus Moon and Honour Hawkey a few more children than Lois Moon, as Theophilus seemed to have moved between neighboring areas for christening purposes for whatever reason.
6. Finally, a number of the other miscellaneous bits of information are those picked up from various sources along the way, which I can't readily place my finger on or are not main stream enough to further include here.
* Many names can have different spellings and pronounciations depending who is writing them and speaking them based on their own personal background. Further such differences are enhanced upon arrival in a new land, like from England to Canada, based on who there is writing them down and how they are being pronounced in the new location. Thus the difference between Trushet, Truskett, and Truscott is explained by pronouncing and spelling variations.
