Abigail Little dau Joseph & Abigail baptism 13 Dec 1825, St Pinnock; family residence at the time was Lee and father was a farmer. - Now in proper order, as newly found information has been juggled it, it does now seem to be all there. Here the information is mostly of a minimum, only being used to introduce one to the cousin connections. One note is that there now seems to be found another 'lost' or previously unknown 'child', Joseph Moon, who never appeared in any of the family wills because of his child death. But now with added information, he has been added to the family as a 'child', needing but to be sealed to his parents. A listing of such OPC summarized parish record entries follow concering those of this first family. |

NOTE: The family members who stayed in Liskeard were all buried at St Keyne. Edward Moon wrote his will 20 January 1848 when his brother Nicholas Moon was still living, thus Nicholas was named in Edward's will though by the time of Edward's death, Nicholas had already died. Edward Moon died 12 August 1849 some four and a half months after Nicholas Moon, who died 31 March 1849. Nicholas Moon had written his will 4 May 1848 and it names Edward his brother in his will, which caused no confusion for Edward did out live Nicholas. Yet it was bound to happen that one or the other would so have written into their will the name of a dead brother for one would have likely out lived the other, which did happen.Nicholas Moon's will, the father, names his wife Mary Ann Moon, and his three sons, Edward Moon, Nicholas Moon and Cornelius Moon. He also names his daughter Mary Ann as the wife of William Snell and their son Joseph Snell. He also names his two daughters Jand and Elizabeth. And he also names his daughter Susannah the wife of Philip Trout as well as their dauther Susannah. Nicholas further names Richard Stephens his brother in Law [the husband of Nicholas' sister Jenny(Jane) Moon. This Richard Stephens died 26 March 1840. Edward Moon's will, eldest son of Nicholas Moon, names his wife Peggy Moon but lists no children. He does name his two brothers Nicholas Moon and Cornelius Moon, though Nicholas will actuly preceed him in death. He names his sister Mary Ann Snell and three of her sons Edmund/Edwd Moon Snell, William Snell and James Snell. He further names his 'late sister Susan' and her two daughters Susan Trout and Jane Trout. And he then names his sister Jane the wife of George Raby and their children Susan, Charlotte, Janc, Fanny and George. Before ending his will, he names Mary daughter of his sister Susan Trout as being the wife of Thomas [Rowe] Hender, he renames them as Mary the wife of Thomas Hender and lastly he names Mary Hender by her married name. This Mary [Aina Trout] Hender and Thomas [Rowe] Hender are my second great grandparents. Oddly, Edward does not mention his spinster sister Elizabeth Moon who had died 16 March 1841. Nicholas Moon's will, the second son of Nicholas Moon and Mary Ann Fitze, names both his brothers Edward Moon and Cornelius Moon. He names his sister Mary Ann Snell and her two children James Snell and William Snell. He then names his four nieces Susan Raby, Charlotte Raby, Jane Raby and Fanny Raby. He names his nephew George Raby. And he names them as being the daughters and son of George Raby of Keverall of St. Markers(Makers?) He also names his three nieces Susan Trout, Jane Trout and Mary wife of Mr. Hender of East Looe daughters of Philip Trout. He names no wife or children. The fourth Moon will of this family is the comparitively simple will of Elizabeth Moon, a dauhter of Nicholas Moon and Mary Ann Fitze. She was a spinster and of Little Treheer. She died 16 March 1841, before any of her brothers. She names her three brothers, Edward Moon, Nicholas Moon and Cornelius Moon. She references her late fathers will and her father as being Mr. Nicholas Moon. She names her sister Mary Ann Snell, but she does not name her sister Susannah Trout, who may have been deceased 1839, or her other sister Jane Raby.

William Snell and Mary Ann Moon FamilyWilliam Snell = Mary Ann Moon (4th great aunt) of Devoran | cb 2 Aug 1798 res Stonehouse | Liskeard Stoke Damerel | m 5 Aug 1817 | db 6 Nov 1851 Liskeard | St Keyne a53* | __________________________|_________________________ | Edward | | | Joseph Snell Edmund Moon Snell William Snell James Snell b abt 1818 db 16 Mar 1845 St Keyne a26 * Her residence is stated as being of Plymouth, and according to the Census record she is there as a lodger, widow age 52 earlier in the year with no employment, at St Andrew Parish, Christ Church, Plymouth. There it is also confirmed she is born of Liskeard, Cornwall.- From the various Moon family wills this family is put together and from such as the marriage record of Liskeard which states that William Snell is of Stonehouse, it is likely that his family is living in Devon and may be that connection which a number of relatives have used to go to East Stonehouse in Stoke Damerel, Plymouth, Devon for marriages, etc. But genealogy records are not as available online for Devon as they are for Cornwall.
