Genesis

"We Will Prove Them Herewith"

The First Book of Moses, which we call Genesis, is a record of God's Great Covenant with the chosen Patriarchs of the Covenant from Adam, Abel, Seth, Enoch and Noah to Melchizedek, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. When one comes to understand that Moses' first book was such a record of the great and noble Patriarchs of the Covenant of God and their obtaining the blessings of that Covenant which revolves around God's promised Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ the great Jehovah, then one can begin to really appreciate the book of Genesis of the Old Testament.

Despite how the Jewish Torah begins with the record of the creation, be have come to understand that it did not begin with the creation of the earth. In the revealed book of Moses as given to the world by the Prophet Joseph Smith, we come to understand that before the creation of this earth was the preexistance and the preexistent councils of God where Jehovah, the first born in the spirit of the Father, was selected by God the Father to be the Savior and Redeemer of the world. This is also taught by Abraham in the Book of Abraham also provided by the divine and inspired translation of Joseph Smith of the writings of Father Abraham.

Further, we have from the inspired translation of the Bible by the Prophet Joseph Smith, additional verses of scripture lost from the pages of the Bible's book of Genesis. These are verses which clarify and explain much about the patriarchal order of the covenant of God. They include additional insightful verses in respect to the blessing of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh recorded in the 48th chapter of Genesis. They also included a number of the promises and prophecies concerning the house of Joseph as recorded in the 50th chapter of Genesis. With these additional insightful verses, it is clear that Joseph obtained the blessings of the covenant of the patriarchal fathers and that those blessings where bestowed upon the head of Ephraim as the firstborn son of the covenant in Israel with Ephraim taking upon himself the name of Israel.
