               CHAPTER 2

A Messianic Psalm—The heathen shall rage against the Lord's anointed—The Lord speaks of his Son whom he has begotten.

This references Elohim as LORD—He that sitteth in the heavens —And to Jehovah-Jesus who is the LORD's Anointed—It further concerns the non-believing heathen that rage against Christ/God.
HEATHEN
They who do not recognize & worship Jesus and God the Father. This includes atheists, worshipers of Lucifer and other false gods, including 'false Christs.' This includes those who distort and corrupt God and/or Jesus Christ into something they are not as imagined and suited to the minds of man.
1 Why do the aheathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The akings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take bcounsel together, against the LORD, and against his canointeda, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
2a against the LORD, and against His anointed Now the LORD here spoken of is Our Father Who Art in Heaven, who is Elohim. And His anointed is Jehovah-Jesus Christ, who the Father foreordained and anointed in the pre-existence, having selected him to be our Ministering God of this temporal creation, he standing in the stead of the Father in all things (Lev. 16:32, D&c 130:5).  1a TG Heathen

King David Knew
As stated by King David in Psalm 110, he knew and understood that his Lord, Jehovah/Jesus, had a LORD above him, God the Father in Heaven [Elohim]. Jesus and the Apostles referenced Psalm 110 in their teachings of Jesus being the son of God the Father.
4 He that sitteth in the heavensa shall alaugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

ELOHIM & JEHOVAH
Simply Elohim is "Our Father Who Art in Heaven" as Jesus so taught us to pray to Him. God the Father, that Man of Holiness, selected Jehovah, His Firstborn spirit son, to be our Ministering God of this temporal creation. As such Jehovah stands in the stead of the Father in all things being both the God of the Old Testament representing the Father as His Intercessory, and as Jesus Christ [Jehoshua Messiah] our Savior and Redeemer, our mediating advocate of the New Testament.
4a He that sitteth in the heavens "Our Father Who Art In Heaven": This ought to plainly identify who it is that is speaking hear as being Elohim, Our Heavenly Father, the Father of our spirits. And he of whom He speaks is none other that Jehovah-Jesus Christ, our Ministering God and Lord of the Old and New Testament. He, Jesus, is who the Father hath anointed to stand and act in His stead in all things pertaining to this temporal creation.

Father or Son?
The Father and Son are joined in one great Gospel cause of 'bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man' ~ Moses 1:39. In this purpose and cause they unite as one though they are indeed two separate beings. As the Son represents the Father in all things as though he were the Father, what is done is the well of the Father as they are one in purpose. Such unity is often misunderstood and makes for corruptions of God by innovations of men who make God to be that which 'HE/THEY' are NOT.

Betwixt man and God our Heavenly Father, who dwells in the heavens above, stands Jesus Christ, as our Intercessor, Mediator and Advocate. No man comes unto the Father but by Jesus Christ as he is the Way, the Path, the Truth and the Light that leads man into God's presence. There is no other way but by Christ Jesus.

Rod of Iron
The rod has a consistent meaning in the Book of Mormon, being the 'Word of God'. The Word or Word of God is Christ and by that power, by the Word of God, was creation effected. And by that power will He rule in the Millennium.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Serve the LORD with afear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. aBlessed are all they that put their btrust in him.
