             CHAPTER 16

God redeems men from their lost and fallen state—Those who are carnal remain as though there was no redemption—Christ brings to pass a resurrection to endless life or to endless damnation. [About 148 B.C.]

God, that is Jehovah, redeems men from their lost and fallen state—
Those who have not yielded control of their carnal natures unto the spirit are carnal still as though there was no redemption made—
Jehovah as Jesus Christ brings to pass a resurrection of all who have ever lived in mortality to endless life or to endless damnation. [About 148 B.C.]
1 AND now, it came to pass that after Abinadi had spoken these words he stretched forth his hand and said: The time shall come when all shall see the asalvation of the Lord; when bevery nation, kindred, tongue, and people shall see eye to eye and shall cconfess before God that his djudgments are just.
2 And then shall the awicked be bcast out, and they shall have cause to howl, and cweep, and wail, and gnash their teeth; and this because they would not dhearken unto the voice of the Lord; therefore the Lord redeemeth them not.

3 For they are acarnal and devilish, and the devil has power over them; yea, even that old serpent that did bbeguile our first parents, which was the ccause of their fall; which was the cause of dall mankind becoming carnal, sensual, devilish, eknowing evil from good, fsubjecting themselves to the devil.
4 Thus all mankind were alost; and behold, they would have been endlessly lost were it not that God redeemed his people from their lost and fallen state.

5 But remember that he that persists in his own acarnal nature, and goes on in the ways of sin and rebellion against God, remaineth in his fallen state and the bdevil hath all power over him. Therefore, he is as though there was no credemption made, being an enemy to God; and also is the ddevil an enemy to God.
6 And now if Christ had not come into the world, speaking of things to come aas though they had already come, there could have been no redemption.
7 And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no asting, there could have been no resurrection.

10 Even this mortal shall put on aimmortality, and this bcorruption shall put on incorruptiona, and shall be brought to cstand before the bar of God, to be judged of him according to their works whether they be good or whether they be evila
11 If they be good, to the resurrection of aendless life and bhappiness; and if they be evil, to the resurrection of cendless damnation, being delivered up to the devil, who hath subjected them, which is damnation—
12 Having gone according to their own carnal wills and desires; having never called upon the Lord while the arms of mercy were extended towards them; for the arms of mercy were extended towards them, and they would anot; they being warned of their iniquities and yet they would not depart from them; and they were commanded to repent and yet they would not repent.

10a this mortal shall put on immortality, and this corruption shall put on incorruption All will be resurrection from the grave of mortality to the eternity of immortality. Life goes on forever. The corruption spoken of here is that which correlates with the mortal body. It is that which causes old age and physical death. The resurrected body will have power over death. Instead of blood which does corrupt, pure spirit will flow thoughout the immortal body and the corruption which casues old age, decay, desease and death will be no more. The immortal body will be 'incorruptable'. It will not be subject to death and the corruptableness of mortality. This is not the 'corruption' of evil and sin, but the corruption which pertains to this temporal mortal estate. The matter of sin, wickedness and the carnal nature of man is another matter which relates to Spiritual Death, which is being cast out of the presence of God for ever more. Carnal is evil in nature. Corruption is merely the state of a mortal existance which is subject to physical death of the grave.
10b to be judged of him according to their works whether they be good or whether they be evil Salvation and redemption from the grave is a free gift to all men, they will all be resurrected unto immortality, and this by the grace and mercy of God. It is also by the grace and mercy of God that the sins of men are forgiven them, as Christ so suffered for the sins of all men, the just for the unjust, being a infinite, eternal and divine sacrifice for sin. And it is and will be also by the grace and mercy of Christ that men will be raised up from their lowly state to such degrees of glory as the grace and mercy of Christ doth allow according to their works, whether they be good or evil. And thus is the importance of good works and in living the laws and commandments of God. For while all are saved unto the salvation of the resurrection and immortality, all are not to receive the glory of exaltation to live in the presence and kingdom of God, that Celestial Glory which is above all the rest. Yet even that ultimate sanctification and purification of raising up men unto that perfection to one with God and Christ, is also wrought through and by the power of the atonement and by the mercy and grace of God. Thus all are receipiants of the grace and mercy of God unto salvation from the death of the grave and also unto that degree of glory and salvation which they do so attain to in accordance to their good works and corresponding nature and desire of their hearts.

13 And now, ought ye not to tremble and repent of your sins, and remember that only in and through Christ ye can be saved?
14 Therefore, if ye teach the alaw of Moses, also teach that it is a bshadow of those things which are to come—
15 Teach them that redemption cometh through Christ the Lord, who is the very aEternal Fathera. Amen.

15a Christ the Lord, who is the very Eternal Father Now those who belittle who it is that Jesus Christ is may find it difficult to understand how it is that Christ is the Eternal Father in all things pertaining to this Second Estate. And this is in part because the scope of this physical creation is limited in the minds of many to this earth only. That 'subset' of time which we may consider to be this 'Second Estate', does have a beginning and an end. It is marked by 'time'. Eternity is not so marked by time, having no beginning nor end. Now as set forth by the Apostle John, the whole of this creation was performed by the 'Word' who is Jesus Christ. Yea. in the beginning of this 'time' of this physical creation was the Word who was Christ who was known by the name of Jehovah. And Jehovah stood as it were with God the Father of Spirits in that beginning, He being the Firstborn spirit son of the Father of Spirits in the spirit. Now though we may well consider him to be our 'Elder Brother' and his love is such as a loving and caring elder brother, let that not distract us from understanding the grand and great extent of that which is given to be under his charge as our Ministering God of the whole of this Second Estate. For indeed, all things were created by him, the whole of the heavens and the earth and all that in them are. And thus he is the 'Eternal Father' of this great creation, he will forever be that Father of it. And is not this Eternal? Worlds without number has he created as the Ministering God of the whole of it under the direction of the Father of Spirits. But he it is that stands from all eternity to all eternity. being the Alpha and the Omega of this vast eternal creation. Science is still discoverying the vastness of it. And they are coming to understand that there is not end of it, that it seems to go on and on forever, which it continues to so do, though having a beginning and an end in terms of man who participates in the plan thereof.  14a TG Law of Moses
