A Truth of Wisdom
A Saying to Live By

  1 THE aproverbs of Solomon the son of Davida, king of Israel;
  2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
  3 To receive the ainstruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
  4 To give subtilty to the asimple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
 1a proverbs of Solomon the son of David It is considered that Solomon is the primary source of the proverbs, yet it is quite likely that in a number of cases these statements of wisdom were likely folk says which Solomon pick up on and they were made famous under his name.  1a 1 Kings 4:32; Prov. 10:1; Prov. 25:1

  10 ¶ My son, if sinners aentice thee, bconsent thou not.
  11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us alurk privily for the innocent without cause:
  12 Let us aswallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the bpit:
  13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
  14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
  15 My son, walk not thou in the way with thema; arefrain thy foot from their path:
  16 For their feet run to aevil, and make haste to shed blood.
 15a walk not thou in the way with them It is easy to say, but when all about you and even the law teaches it, it is sometimes difficult to resist the way(s) of the world. Today is such a day. They teach it in the school, they pass the laws which support and even encourage it by making it an 'evil' to protest or teach against it. But still the Lord's commandments are to be obeyed and followed. The teaching of 'abstinence' is no longer taught as it ought to be. But sin is still sin in the eyes of the Lord and he expect his children to exercise self control and mastery of the spirit over the natural man, the creature. Today the world teaches and practices giving in to the desires of the flesh and wickedness, even going so far to present it as 'good' and 'no longer evil' as it has been taught for the ages past. This does not make it so. And this must still be taught and observed in the house, church and kingdom of God.  10a TG Temptation

  18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
  19 So are the ways of every one that is agreedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

  20 ¶ Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
  21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
  22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their ascorning, and fools bhate cknowledge?
  23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will apour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
