CHAPTER 3
Write mercy and truth upon the tablet of thy heart—Trust in the Lord—Honor
him with thy substance—Whom the Lord loveth he correcteth—Happy is the man
that findeth wisdom.
|
|
|
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and along life, and
bpeace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and atruth forsake thee:
bbind them about thy neck; write them upon the ctable of
thine dheart:
4 So shalt thou find afavour and good understanding in
the sight of God and man.

7 ¶ Be not awise in thine own
eyesa:
bfear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be ahealth to thy navel, and marrow to thy
bones.
9 aHonour the LORD with thy
bsubstance, and with the cfirstfruits of all thine
increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with aplenty, and thy
presses shall burst out with new wine.
|
7a Be not wise in thine own eyes Proud, puffed up,
and vain men who think they know more than the master of the universe are egocentric. The speak
the philosophies of men because they consider themselved learned. But they know not for the
wisdom of man is full of errors and lack of understanding. To be learned is good IF one puts his
trust and faith in the Lord first. For God is the source of all truth, wisdom and understanding.
And man's minute mind and mental capacity in this life is limited and full of the flaws and
the foolishness of men who innovate and contrive according to their own mind and thoughts and
not according to the understanding of God.
